The first week of 2010 will soon be over so celebrate with us this Saturday. DJ Anton, So Gold & Petey Wheatstraw of Wants Vs Needs, Dj Bach, The Nightstalker, Senza & myself will be holding down the music. We will be wielding squeegues for custom printed t-shirts. Plus we’ll have discounts on misprints and limited edition pieces all night!
Our friend, fashion writer, blogger and stylist, Le Petit Connaisseur de la Mode commissioned some exclusive one-off creations from the bowls of the Anthem Heart studio, so I cranked out some abstractions inspired by VHS video distortion. I recall the days when rough overdubs of my favorite movies with my moms soap operas may have intrigued me and scared me at the same time.
The Honeymoon is over people…but it sure was fun while it lasted! When most monthly dance nights fade and dye with a soft whimper, it’s refreshing to see the Moongoons breaking the mold. Proving to be the masters of their own destiny (and the Minneapolis party universe) the ‘goons ended Honeymoon with a an epic celebration that will cement their legacy and begs the question; what’s next?!
We’ve had the pleasure of printing all the limited edition t-shirt runs for the Honeymoon parties. Visit the Moongoons Shop to order some of the ‘kewl’ reissues.
It was that time of year for Cliche to roll out its new looks for spring 2009. Our involvement in Avoid the Grey 2009 featured work that resulted from a collaboration with designer Maritza Ramirez, who will be participating in the premiere MPLS runway and music event, Voltage Fashion Amplified in the First Ave Mainroom in April. The workflow was simple; she dropped off fabric at our studio, I printed on it, and she made some dresses and skirts. I was deejaying the show and actually had not seen the finished product until that models walked out onto the runway. It was a delightful experience all around.

We dressed the window display at Cliche but the clothes sold out before we had a chance to make more. Expect more from Maritza and Anthem Heart soon. The latest work is available at Cliche. As I am writing this post they are sold out, but I’ll be dropping off more t-shirts and dresses soon.
