Our first studio party/live printing event was a blowout! The music was pumpin and the ink was flyin’! Matt Locher of Solid Gold and Ken of AH improvised some t-shirts on the spot for all the party people who weren’t busy dancing.

Anthem Heart welcomes special guest t-shirt designer Matt Locher of Minneapolis based art/synth/rock sensations Solid Gold. Matt & I are cooking up a series of collaborative pieces to print and improvise from at the party…and we will be selling everything for one night only!
The participation of the party-goers is encouraged. With various blank t-shirts, multiple screens, and color choices, the possibilities are staggering. The one-of-a-kind creations will be at recession-proof prices, under $30.

Eric Inkala has been a friend of ours for a while and a staple of the Minneapolis art scene for many years. We’ve commissioned 2 artworks from his sketch book produced T-shirt artwork. We will be re-releasing some remixes of those soon. For the art show, I am mashing up some of my new work & revisiting one of the designs we bought from him – exploring various techniques, dye, discharge, & screen printing…yes on a T-shirt!
Our friend, fashion writer, blogger and stylist, Le Petit Connaisseur de la Mode commissioned some exclusive one-off creations from the bowls of the Anthem Heart studio, so I cranked out some abstractions inspired by VHS video distortion. I recall the days when rough overdubs of my favorite movies with my moms soap operas may have intrigued me and scared me at the same time.

Thanks to Kevin O’Meara for being johnny-on-the-spot lately for us and snapping some great photos, & being a really cool dude. Also big shouts to our old friend Dave Koehler for contributing to the production of the clapperclaw t-shirt art, & for helping out at the booth.
